Enhanced Videojet 2300 Series Large Character inkjet Printers Deliver High Quality Print, Reduced Inventory Expense

WOOD DALE, Ill. (USA) — January 24, 2011 — The new enhanced Videojet® 2300 Series of large character inkjet printers from Videojet Technologies Inc. offers superior code quality and improved flexibility for easier production line integration and operation. The new Videojet 2340, 2350 and 2360 printers all feature Videojet’s patented automatic printhead micropurge. This feature provides automated micropurging of the printheads during operation, helping to eliminate frequent downtime, while maintaining high quality printing, even in dusty environments. Videojet 2300 Series printers are the industry’s only large character high resolution inkjet printers that recycle and reuse ink used during automatic printhead micropurge.

“By printing variable information onto cases on-line, these printers provide a dependable means to substantially reduce inventory expense by eliminating the need for preprinted cases. They also can be a very cost-effective alternative to print-and-apply labeling,” says Scott Prochaska, Videojet’s business manager for secondary packaging. “The new Videojet 2300 Series printers are capable of printing text, logos and GS1-compliant barcodes up to 2.7 inches to meet a variety of case coding needs.”

The enhanced Videojet 2300 Series has a molded, rounded front plate to protect the printhead from impact with boxes on the line, ensuring consistent print quality in secondary packaging applications. The printers are available with an optional remote user interface based on the intuitive CLARiTY™ operating system, which makes it easy to change settings or select messages for printers in hard-to-access areas, such as on an elevated conveyor or in tight production environments.

Claricom CLARiSOFT™ message management software supports message creation utilizing alphanumeric codes, graphics, images and bar codes. The printers can operate standing alone or can be integrated into a facility’s IT infrastructure using Claricom CLARiNET™ networking software. Up to four printers can be linked together into a single print system, with full system control and job selection possible from the interface of the master printer, from the optional remote user interface or from a PC.
