TEA & COFFEE COMPANY LOOKS TO VIDEOJET FOR A FRESH APPROACH TO PRINTING AND CODING

Videojet DataFlex® Plus Thermal Transfer Overprinter Provides Flexibility and Simplicity while Minimizing Downtime

WOOD DALE, Ill. — November 19, 2013 –- Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of industrial inkjet systems, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, announced that Tea & Coffee Company has seen a reduction in line stops, downtime and storage space after implementing the DataFlex® Plus Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) on its packaging line.

Located in Edmonton and Alberta, Canada, Tea & Coffee Company is a distributor and wholesaler of fresh roasted specialty gourmet coffees, gourmet loose teas, syrups, espresso machines, coffee grinders and coffee brewing equipment.  The company supplies many offices, shops, cafes and restaurants across Canada with its premium coffees, roasted daily using only the highest grades of Arabica beans from the world’s finest coffee growing regions.  Tea & Coffee Company turned to Videojet when it made a decision to update how it printed and coded on its products.

“Before implementing the DataFlex Plus, we had to order and store multiple rolls of prefinished film.  Every time we wanted to package a different coffee, it was a minimum of 30 minutes to find the right film and install it in the form, fill, seal machine,” said Butch Foster, senior packaging operator, Tea & Coffee Company.  “Now we only have two films – one with our logo and one generic where we use the DataFlex Plus to print our coffee type and sizes – and the changeover takes 30 seconds.“

With the DataFlex Plus, all of the label information is entered using an intuitive, high-resolution graphical interface and color touchscreen with easy-to-learn, icon-based controls and a WYSIWYG image display to reduce downloading and entry errors.   Because the label information is pre-programmed, the operator can easily change the printer data by downloading it from the computer onto a memory stick and plugging it into the DataFlex Plus control interface.

“Customers like Tea & Coffee Company are looking for flexibility and simplicity when it comes to printing and coding,” said Warren Boudreau, Sales Engineer for Videojet.  “The DataFlex Plus answers these needs while providing a highly reliable solution that minimizes maintenance and downtime so that they can focus on delivering the best possible product and not worry about the printing.”
